PROJECT DIMENSIONS, INC. (PDI) was founded in 1985 and has been partnering with its private and public sector clients for over 30 years to bring creative and unique solutions to their projects. As an industry leader, PDI’s consulting experience and expertise are in the areas of entitlement, project management, and construction management. PDI is a multidisciplinary management group that specializes in assisting public agencies in the development of capital improvement projects (CIP) and public works projects. PDI’s corporate headquarters are located in the city of Irvine, with branch offices as required to service its client’s local needs.
PDI provides “On-Call Services” to numerous cities and counties throughout southern California by preforming Project Management, Construction Administration, and Construction Management Services for their Public Works, Parks, Planning, and Community Development Departments on a broad spectrum of project types. PDI currently has contracts with the Counties of Orange, San Bernardino, and Riverside, as well as the Cities of Anaheim, Brea, and Irvine.
PDI is also contracted to provide Coastal Engineering Services to the County of Orange, Community Resources Department in support of the design, permitting, repair, and reconstruction of its coastal facilities, including engineering support during construction and technical assistance in preparation of coastal studies. PDI is also a consultant for the County of Orange Parks Department (OC Parks), as an On-Call Construction Manager overseeing projects located within their beaches, open space, and park facilities. In addition to consulting services, PDI has the resources available to augment agency’s staff with PDI professionals on an “As Needed Basis”, to meet project workload demands.
PDI offers clients a complete range of Project Management, Construction Management, and Post-Construction Management services via our experienced in-house staff.
Project Management Services can include consultant team selection and management, entitlement and permit processing, public outreach, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, phasing, design review, constructability review, value engineering, site logistics, bid packages, contractor pre-qualifications, bidding, and contract award. Construction Management Services include cost control, site construction management, scheduling, document control, information management, safety management, inspection oversight, and quality control. Post-construction services include site pre-acceptance, punch-lists, turnover item coordination, agency approval documentation, as-built plans, building commissioning, and LEED certification.
PDI’s team has collectively provided Project and Construction Management services for over 12 million square feet of vertical construction throughout southern California. Projects include visitor serving facilities, parks, recreational facilities, infrastructure, community centers, libraries, lifeguard stations, harbors, marinas, hotels, office, industrial, R & D, manufacturing, storage, restaurant and retail centers, health facilities, golf courses, clubhouses, and restroom and maintenance facilities. PDI has also managed over 3 million square feet of office/mixed-use facilities, and entitled tens of thousands of acres of land with a combined ‘built-out’ value of over $10 Billion.
PDI’s staff consists of seasoned professionals that have prior design experience and/or have worked at management levels within local agencies. PDI has strong working relationships with agency management and staff members at the federal, state, and local levels. PDI is experienced in coordinating and overseeing the design, approval, and installations for a variety of infrastructure project types that include: Waterway infrastructure (piers, docks, lagoons), Coastal Bluff Restoration, Sewer, Gas, Storm Drainage, Water Retention Facilities, Water Treatment Facilities, Street Improvements, Dry Utilities, Power Transmission, and Undergrounding.
Representative projects for which PDI was the agency’s Project/Construction Manager include the Dana Point Harbor Revitalization representing the County of Orange, The Desert Willow Golf Resort representing the City of Palm Desert, the Malibu Storm Water Detention & Filtration Facility representing the City of Malibu, the Orange County Water District’s Burris Basin Water Reclamation Area for the City of Anaheim, The renovation of the historic Woelke-Stoffel House Restoration for the City of Anaheim, the Ione Water Treatment Facility for the City of Ione, Palm Desert’s 2.5M Gallon Reclaimed Water Reservoir and multiple Coachella Valley Water District Well Site Improvements for the City of Palm Desert, and the All American Canal Re-Alignment and Undergrounding representing the City of La Quinta.
PDI specializes in the management of landscape-oriented projects that include: streetscapes, parks, recreation facilities, multi-purpose trails, bikeways, monumentation, signage programs, greenbelts, open space preservation, and habitat conservation. PDI’s in-house landscape division utilizes Landscape Architects, Planners, and Engineers with expertise in landscape design, horticulture, xeriscape, and irrigation design, a well as experience in managing the design process, and the daily onsite supervision of projects.
PDI’s landscape projects are diverse in size and scope, and often involve the development of lake and stream systems, water retention and filtration systems, bio swales, open space enhancement, habitat conservation, California plant community restoration/establishment, and the preservation of historic sites and buildings. Its staff members are extremely knowledgeable in the use of ornamental plant materials commonly utilized throughout southern California as well as the California native plant communities associated with the southern California’s Inland Empire, Desert and Coastal Regions.
PDI has successfully managed projects under the jurisdiction of the California Coastal Commission and the jurisdiction of the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for Coastal Sage, Riparian and Wetlands Habitats. PDI understands Coastal Access and marine and aquatic habitats, and have managed many environmentally sensitive coastal/marine projects that resulted in substantial improvement to coastal access, water and air quality, while offering enhanced active and passive recreational opportunities.
